Most stuff is now available in NZ so best hassle your local shop
Totally agree on this. Bout time people stepped up and started supporting all aspects of their scene. Plus buying locally helps save the planet if your into that kinda thing. Good hunting Mike
not trying to piss anyone here, so don't take anything too personally, but the only reason I buy from over seas is the cost difference, which really appeals to me. I would be more than happy to buy everything i need from nz stores even with the limited choice,(which seems to be improving at the moment) as long as the prices were reasonable. That fact is that they're not, but i guess distributors need to make a cut aswel as the stores themselves. maybe I'm just a poor......
That's true.... allot of kids out there just don't have the money to walk into a bike shop a buy something of the shelf... the only thing I can say to that is make sure you buy the things you can afford...,or if something is $10 cheaper from the USA, just save the $10 and contribute to your scene.. its like and investment, The more you buy helps the market grow, the more the market grows the more prices will come down!!!....also im sure most friendly bike shops out there will help put a little with the price if you become a good long term customer.
guess so. I'd rather be supporting a local shop than an american one at the end of the day
well its pretty simple. if local shops had everything as dans, as cheap as dans.. then every1 wud flee to the local shops but the thing is they dont.
thats not the way to think anonymous, there are alot of factors that come into play, not just the shop making money/surviving, dans comp is the lamest thing i have ever seen, i mean dans comp for fuk sakes!, makes bmx seem lame
Some points to think about.
when your danscomp poverty g-ride's head tube breaks off. Will danscomp warranty pay for the postage to send the frame back. Probably not.
Next time you get a flat near your local shop will the employees let you use the tools for free?
I think every local shop has a story about how some homeless dude brings in a stolen bike to sell for some quick cash
Only to have it returned to its right full owner.
It will not be long till danscomp can not handle the freight bill due to the crazy oil prices. Sooner the better.
