BOX OF TRIX  Wednesday, February 17, 2010

Gavin from Rampage Bike Park sent in some more details about the Box of Trix contest happening this weekend on Sunday, 21st:

What is it?
It's a fun competition open to riders of all ages and levels giving you a chance to compete with your friends or to show off your style to win cash and spot prizes.

Program for the day
09:00am Registration/practice
10:00am Elimination pool 1
10:45am Elimination pool 2
11:30am Elimination pool 3
12:15pm Elimination pool 4
01:15pm Prize giving
01:30pm Comp finished ride the park
06:00pm Rampage closed

How the competition will be run?
The competition will begin with 4 pools comprised of 16 riders as per the following:

Pool #1 Mountain bikes x16 riders
Pool #2 Open BMX 1 x16 riders
Pool #3 Open BMX 2 x16 riders
Pool #4 Pro BMX x16 riders

To start the elimination 2 names (from the same pool) will be drawn out of a bucket the first name selected will ride first the other will follow. The person with the highest score after their 2 runs will move onto the next round the loser will drop out, this will continue until there’s only 1 person left standing that person will win the pool and take away the cash prize.

The course:
The course will be down the roller and over either the big or small lines (you choose) to the vert wall, you will get 2 runs in a row (4 tricks) your tricks will be added up at the end of your second run and that will be your final score. Tricks can be the same if you choose
.

Scoring:
There’s a list of 20 different tricks ranging from one-handers to superman seat-grabs the harder the trick the bigger the score you will only be scored by doing tricks from the BOX OF TRIX LIST (thus the name)

This list will be up before practice so you will be able to plan your attack beforehand!

The tricks you choose will have to be pulled off clean to earn their maximum points as the judge/judges will reduce the points if the trick is messy, only partially executed or you case.

Spot prizes
There will be a bunch of spot prizes from ABD, SR Cycles, Red Bull and ADIO that will be drawn at the end of the competition but if you are not here to collect the prize it will be re-drawn immediately.

To enter
You can either:

register at Rampage the list is on the front counter
email me at gavin@rampagebikepark.com please tell me your full name and if you are BMX or MTB.

There are a number of riders already entered but you will be able to enter on the day should you choose (as long as there are spots left).

How much does it cost?
Entry is $20 once the competition has finished you will be able to ride the park till closing (in other words you pay normal entry but have a good chance at either winning cash or spot prizes)

To make it easier to judge, all the more common tricks are included on the list so It's safe to say that whatever trick you do it will get you points.
Asher and Blizt please feel free to call me at Rampage I'm keen to hear your thoughts and the ideas you may have to help me improve my competitions in the future. GP
