BIKE CHECK AND GOOD NEWS  Friday, November 30, 2007

Below is a bike check from local Auckland rider Dave Struthers who is currently living in Canada, so check that out.

Logan from Abbots way managed to get his bike back thanks to the help of the Remuera Library's security cameras. So if you see some one riding around on a bike that looks like this don't jump him because its probably Logan.

NEWS  Thursday, November 29, 2007

Here is a bit of bad news from the local riders from Abbots Way, Auckland. First of all Logan from that area got his bike stolen from the Remuera Library (while he was studying for exams). Apparently it took him along time and allot of saving to get his bike how he wanted it! So please keep a look out for it if you are in that area or around town, you never know where it might pop up... this is what it looks like. and here are the specs:

Fly 3 Amigo's Frame in a dark red powder coat, no stickers, but notable are the seat stay and chain stay bridges which are plates instead of tubes, in a A shape.
S&M RV Bars-Cut down a bit, no stickers.
Odsy Old Style, non tapered leg Race Forks
Black Fly Brakes and Dirt Harry lever.
Fly and Animal asm tires.
Odsy Aitken Black Seat
New Black Profile Cranks
New Black Profile SS Mini Cassette hub.
Animal Hamilton Pedals-Black and Sealed and Old
Duralectra Odsy Black back rim, 36h
Ryno Lyte Vandero 36 front wheel.

And in other bad news Stephen (the guy who came second in the zombie hop comp) took a fall at forest hill and got a peg in the head, after moving from A&E to home to Ascot to Auckland Hospital he had Fairly intrusive brain surgery to remove the fragments of bone from inside his head, he is doing ok now, but obviously is feeling like shit and has been told no biking for 6 months, Luckily ACC should have him covered, NZ aint such a bad place to live... hope you get better soon dude!

Last of all here is a few more photos from the Zombie Hop comp:

Thanks for the photos Ryan!

You may have seen the petition for saving 'Hush Trails' floating around on the web. Basically Hush Trails are some super nice trails that have been around for a long time now in South Canberra, Australia and are currently under threat of getting knocked down. Even though there not in NZ I'm sure the Hush locals would appreciate some support from NZ riders.... for more info and to sign the petition please visit backbonebmx.com.au
