Heres a few pics from the TePai comp the other day, and a few I found on my computer from PMP trails a while back.

I had a message from 'Dave and Lewis' about their jam near Raglan the other day, if you didnt figure it out, it was canceled due to the terrible weather.... but- It will be on the 8th of March from Midday now. Hopefully the weather holds out!!

Go check out Terrible Ones fakie comp, looks prett sweet, just scroll down the news and.... you get the idea HERE,

Beloe Footwear are making power moves into BMX now, picking up some heavy hitters, Im liking their clean lines, fresh colours and simple designs. Their blog is pretty sweet, recent posts from Karl Poynter are pretty rad. Check them HERE

Sorry about the lack of updates over the last week...... so here's a few things to check out!

There is a new NZ bmx company and web page up and running now called VOLUCID, its run by a local Auckland rider and so far have there own clothing available and are distributors of Zion BMXco. THAT OLD SCHOOL ISH..  Wednesday, February 20, 2008

With the resurgance of all things Old School going on at the moment, I figured why not get in on the bandwagon, so a couple of weekends ago I got stenciling on a blank shirt I had laying around, flipped the SE Racing logo and volia!

On saturday just been I went and checked out the comp at Te Pai, tonnes of kids and a good bunch of riders, most of them nobody knew. Not sure who won but Westy Mike was looking pretty dialled when I saw him ride. A couple of bad pics coming in the next few days...
After checking the comp I went over to PMP trails and had a bit of a session there, everything is in top shape for the jam March 1st so be there or be queeer. Remember if you want to go ride there you need to check with Pete, Pom or Ash first as they are the trail bosses...

BOLTER TWINS  Tuesday, February 19, 2008

Here are a few photos that George and Louis Bolter shot some time last week..................and a funny photo I found floating around on the web!

PHOTOS FROM RYAN  Friday, February 15, 2008

Below is a bunch of rad photos that Ryan McCrae from Hamilton sent in.....check them out.

Thanks Ryan!

Also below is a slightly newer version of the PMP trail jam flyer.... pretty much the same thing but with a few more sponsors on it. Also if your wondering what the gold coin donation is about for the jam, basically its to help out the locals with tools and shit like that, so much stuff goes missing out there, and lets face that place is amazing and the could do with some support!!

Mountainbikes?  Monday, February 11, 2008

Hmm, heres an interesting one-
Most of you will know about the sponsorship changes that Taj and Aaron Ross have both been through in the last couple of months, with Taj now aboard a fleet of Giants and Aaron on Sunday bikes now. Who would have thought they would be on mountainbikes though? Not that I have anything against MTBs, just not in a park or anywhere a BMX would be better.
Heres a pic of both. Taj and Aaron recently took part in a 'BIKE' competition for mountainbikes, they were paired up as a team and just got squeezed into second place by some MTB heavy hitters.

Go HERE to checkout more of the comp

And I know its not 'freestyle' related but Cambridge lad Mark Willers just got 2nd in the first round of BMX Supercross (bmx racing on steroids) in Madrid, Spain. Pretty rad to see the fastest dude in NZ mixing it up with the big boys. How is this relevant to ZOMBIE? Well for starters he has 20" wheels like most of us, and he can still ride trails (really well), while most racer guys are all about the gym, clip pedals and protein shakes, Mark can mix it up at the trails with some flat pedals and a big smile with some Cash in the bank after the 2nd place.
At the race there was also a dirt jump comp, Naran from Fly bikes took it out with Sergio right behind him.
Hit up FATBMX for more...

Thoughts? Let us know what you think of this in the comments.....

Not so Fresh and not so Clean..  Saturday, February 9, 2008

So its like 400 degrees outside, just got back from a mid arvo session at NZs best concrete formation- Melville snakerun and concrete hole. Streetwise Scarletts song is on C4, you know the one from the C4 ads, and Haimona is repping it up on there with a strategically worn Vans tee. You know Vans are sponsoring the PMP trail am March 1st so you gotta be there.

Quietchaos is sponsoring it too and Ill be hooking up a rider with a head to toe kit, but you probably dont know that 'cos Im too slack to send Mike D' a logo for the flyer!
If you haven't entered to win one of QCs limited tees then head on over HERE and enter (entry code 421) have a sift around the site, Ive put up a few new bits and lots more to come......
Heres a look at the first of 11 VICE mag ads an ltd. tees-

Vitalbmx.com is a site I always check, for no other reason than they have some pretty rad vids up there. I just spotted
THIS one, I dont want anyone to miss this one so ive posted a LINK to it here on ZOMBIE. Corey Bohan / The Hills re-re-remix. Someone has too much time on there hands!

A few days ago Cam White (Aussie / Mongoose) threw a jam at his place, it sounds like it was sick and Scott from Natural BMX posted up a mint vid of what went down. Go hit their media page for that vid and some other goods.

DAVE AND LEWIS JAM  Thursday, February 7, 2008

As you may have read in a earlier post by Lester there is going to be a dirt jam on the 23rd of this month half way between Raglan and Hamilton, here is the original information:

Theres a Dirt Jump jam coming up 23rd of Feb from 12.00 until dark, the venue is 'Dave & Lewis' s place half way from Hamilton to Raglan. I havent seen the
jumps but from what I understand thay are pretty sweet and not super huge so easy for anyone to ride. Paul Needham is heading up the whole thing and has built the jumps so they'll be in top shape. Address is 153 Cogswell Rd, half way from Hamilton to Raglan. Email lester [at] quietchaos.co.nz if you need more info and Ill see what I can do.See you there!

Anyway below are a few photos from the trails where the jam is going to be held, looks like it could be allot of fun, if you need anymore info give me an email, zombie.bmx@gmail.com

Below is a few more photos from Victoria Skate park the other night.

LIFE CHANGING  Tuesday, February 5, 2008

As most of you all know BMXers love to work on there own bikes and one of the most hardest parts of a bike to work on is the wheels, building wheels is pretty tricky unless you know what your doing... and whats even harder is finding the right spoke length! So for all you BMXers out there who wont to build some new wheels but have no idea what spoke length to use check out this.....thehousebmx.com... this will change your life, every spoke length under the sun! Also below is a couple of photos from the most overrated but all ways fun park in NZ, enjoy!

90's RACE  Saturday, February 2, 2008

The quality and design of BMX technology has changed allot over the last 5 years or so. Everything is lighter, stronger, simple and more straight forward with know over the top designs. Imagine what it would be like if 'freestyle' company's followed some of the 90's race BMX technology..... Imagine trying to get rad on one of these bikes down at the local Skate park....WTF!!

In other news click on the banner to the right which says 'new photos' to see a few photos I shot the other night of local Auckland shredder Steven.
