Richard Gregory who is a local AKL rider is traveling all over the globe at the moment and sent me a bunch of photos from his travels.. Three are of a comp in Berlin, Berlin wall, some pool Richard rode that was in his camp ground and a few others!!
Here is a couple of pics I had floating around my Inbox.. the first one is of Canadian rider Shaun airing a dirt bank out in the Huia Rangers. The 2nd photo local Devonport rider Fraser sent in of his brother Rory doing a table at the Devo Park. And the last photo was sent in by James of trubmx.blogspot.com, which is a trails dedicated blog, the photo is from a set of gnarly trails in sydney, check how perfect that lip is? bananas!
Well I finally got a ride in this weekend after months of non stop rain, A small crew got together and went and rode some parks out South Auckland, I took my camera with me but didn't really get much pics... in fact this is the only one I got that was any good, Its of Louis Bolter gapping the 1/4 to 1/4 transfer as I balanced the camera on my foot in a puddle.
I got an email from Mark of PMP trails titled 'PMP WINTER APPEAL' the other day, hes trying to get people out there and help dig... anyway here is what he had to say:
"At this time of year there isn't much happening in terms of riding - most of us can only handle so much sunsk8, and dodging puddles at vik or Tpie ain't much fun either. I'm sure there must be a good number of riders sitting around, seemingly with nothing to do.
Speaking on behalf of all the PMP locals, I would like to invite all the 20" riders of Auckland to channel their frustration into doing something constructive and to help build an awesome place to ride in the summer! We have been going pretty hard with the digging lately, focused on overhauling existing lines rather than building new shit. Step up and old left (T-shirt) lines are getting a major facelift with the ridgeline to follow. Riders who come and help now will be welcome to ride come summer.
If anyone is interested we generally meet at the trails around 1pm Saturday & Sunday come rain or shine."
Here is some more photos from Whangamata's Caleb Davison.. this time there of himself, shredding the bowl in Tauranga. Thanks for the photos Caleb!! there rad!
Justin from redbull special ops was down in Christchurch last weekend and called in on the guys at RevolutionNZ to organize a quick Hop Comp / BBQ / Party outside there shop. You can check out some photos and a bit of a write up on the event at Justin'swebpage - redbullspecialops.co.nz , I think the highest hop was 37".... not quiet as high as Auckland's Paul Beadle who did 44.5" at last years zombie hop... 37" is still pretty high though! I think we might need to call a NZ National hop comp!!!
Caleb sent in a couple of sneak peak photos of his new trails in Whangamata, there looking rad, nice and steep and look like they should be riding super good for summer. Caleb also sent in this nice photo of George Bolter with a 360euro table onefooter thing over the spine at Taupo.
Here is a few more photos from Ryan McCrae.. every time I see photos from Ryan I'm super impressed, the photos always look amazing and it seems the riders down H-Town are getting better and better all the time!
Sam from Christchurch sent me a few really nice photos of Local rider Jake shredding as per usual... I liked the photos so much that I decided to add them to the gallery, so check them out, there the last three photos in the gallery. Thanks for the photos Sam!
There is a new feature up on the site.. This time its a mini interview with local Thames/H-Town rider Jono, Lester Perry put the interview together and its looking pretty rad so check it out. Also here is a nice little video to go with the interview, Jono's got some skills thats for sure! Im sure you will see more of this kid around in the future.
There is some nice photos up on the Volucid site that Kirk shot in the weekend. I'm glad to see some AKL riders got to enjoy some sun! It feels like its been raining for years. Anyway check the photos out! www.volucid.com
The guys at RevolutionNZ have a new site up after there last one crashed.. its pretty simple and straight forward, which in my opinion is awesome, simple is best. The have also updated there online shop so its much easier to order parts from them, It also tells you how much of that certain product they have in stock.. pretty flash huh!
Devin from Queenstown sent me in these two photos, It seems like the local riders in Wanaka have been pretty busy this winter, there doesn't seem to be many doubles, but still how fun does this place look!!
The Local Assault Jam is back for 08', Its going to be held at Washington Skate park in Christchurch on November 1st. In the past the jam looks like it has been a pretty amazing event so its definitely worth making the trip down for. I guess its pretty hard to get there from the North Island, especially when your from Auckland, but air fairs have been going pretty cheap now, I'm hoping to make it down, so if you make it... see you there! its going to be fun!
Troy from Taranaki sent in this video, its got some cool effects in it and some good riding... the footage is from 07' but still is a pretty rad video and is worth a view, thanks Troy!
Well it officially has been raining for a F#@ken long time, Its been pretty hard to get out and get content for the site as theres not much riding going on. If anyone out there has something send it my way! For now here is a few photos of some hot little bmx parts I shot while I was escaping the rain over at TripleSix HQ, I know you would rather see riding videos or photos but this is all I have for now.
