Crazy hair must be the new thing, bleached patches give you bar spin ablities like Garret Reynolds Red give you Inverts I wonder what blue does? some one needs to go a test it. Theres a visual bike check pic too, decided to set up the studio and do some shots. Jordie and that red hair:
I have heard of a few riders doing this so I thought I would give it a shot. Basically its using a Maxfli Golf Bag as a bike bag instead of your conventional Bike Bag. Its has so many benefits, its allot smaller than a normal Bike Bag, normal Bike Bikes are designed to fit large Bikes like Mountain Bikes and Road Bikes, these Maxfli bags fit BMX's perfectly, nice and tight. They are also well padded, easy to carry, and have wheels for easy transport. All you need to do is remove your wheels, handlebars and pedals. The best thing about the whole deal is that the Airline will think you got a stack of Golf Clubs... not a BMX! Easy traveling!
I'm out of the country for a few weeks.. I will try and keep the site updated as much as possible, but hopefully Ryan and Lester do some good updates too. Please feel free to send me any photos and content for the time being and ill make sure ill get them up!
I went out this afternoon with Jono Hopping and tried out the long lens style, pretty different to shooting with a fisheye about 2cm away from the people riding. The photos turned out sweet, theres more to come from them but you have to wait till they go up on his sponsors sites.
On the other note I was trolling through some old scanns of black n white photos i took before the summer and found one of Jed and One of brain from the weekend I spent at Jeds place before they ripped the half pipe down. I thought id chuck in a random bmx one of me, shot for a self portrait assignment for tec, its a quad exposure of me riding my mini ramp, the camera was put on a 10 second timer for each shot.
Left to right: Jono truck driver over Fair Field Spine, Jono boosting out of FF. Jed front flipping out of bayfair, Brain Boosting at bayfair, Me jamming my mini ramp.
Tim Pierce was up in the Waikato a few months back and spent some time filming with Jed Mildon and Paul Langlands, above is the resulting video.... SWEET! Check out more from Tim at his blog HERE
Photo credit: Lloyd Ramsay I was over at Woodward in the US last week and..... nah, actually - I have been emailing back and forward with a photographer in South Africa and the other day he fired me through this shot of Jaie Toohey, its rad so thought Id share the wealth.

After reading Ryan post below with non BMX photography it inspired me to post some of my own non BMX photography... Although this is still bike related, this is my friends 1979 Laguna Beach Cruiser I shot some photos of and made a little gallery for him.
First up some from last night, Jordie under a bridge. This was a really hard spot to ride becasue we had all this traffic from people leaving the HAMILTON 400. Jordie would start peddaling in from down the road when he a saw a gap, but some people were slowing right down and staring at him, with a look of WTF and blocking his run in.
These photos were shot with my new alien bee flash set up and a cheap old nikon flash. Handy thing about the new flashes is the fact they can act as flood light, lighitng up the dark banks.
On another note here are some of the photographs I did for a series for tec, all about the in between spaces or spaces of absence. The photographs were taken from from Otahuhu power staion all the way down to the Rangipo underground power station past toupo. There all shot on a Mamiya medium format camera with a shift lens. No flashes for once, all natural.
Karl Bensenman sent me in a bunch of nice photos just before he left out shores to head to Brisbane, all of the photos are where taking around the Queenstown are during the summer just been... I think the first two photos where taken by Craig Howell. I'm sure Karl will be shredding his 20inch in Brisbane so hopefully he sends in some more photos. Thanks Karl!
Head over to the BMXmafia web page.. there is a bunch of killer updates up there at the moment, lots of videos and photos to check out from the riders down that end of the country.
Volucid have a sweet deal going on at the moment, when you spend $20 or more on anything through there online store you will receiver a free t-Shirt, so head over to there site and check it out.
Olly's Colony Hell Stallion was stolen on the weekend just been. The bike was taken out of his car in Browns Bay. Please keep your eye out for it, there is nothing worse than having your bike stolen!
Ive been super slack on my updates here recently, not being able to ride has really sucked, I get this damn cast off my arm tomorrow, should be sweet! Above are some lame photos from PMP a month ago, but at least its something! Winter is coming, time to dig!
