On Monday Myself, Tim White, Teva and The Wazman Man decided to make the most of the public holiday and head out the wall rides. Its always fun going to that spot, its super secluded, a nice relaxing spot to chill and ride, it always feels like an adventure, not to mention that the walls are fun as hell to ride.
I spotted this over at the EDH site. Its a new tee they have out for summer designed by local Auckland rider who is now located in London, Mark Skulls. Mark is a rad guy and a really good artist, so its really cool to see him work along side motivated people in the NZ BMX industry like Travis from EDH.
This design is killer.. cant wait to get my hands on one!
If you head over to the EDH site it looks like they are going to be releasing a bunch of new parts for 2010. I look forward to seeing what they come out with!
Sorry for the lack of updates over the last few days.. I have been enjoying the Xmas break and pretty much doing absolutely nothing but chilling and a little bit of riding.
Paul from Flow Visual sent in another rad edit. This times it of Daniel Carson.. Daniel kills it! Check the web vid out and see it for yourself.
Thanks for sending in the vid in Paul, keep up the good work and we all look forward to seeing more edits from you!
TEMPERED BIKES SPROCKET
Wednesday, December 23, 2009
I spotted this the other day on the Tempered Bikes web page. Its the new Anchor Down Sprocket for 2010 and is one of the raddest sprockets I have seen in a while. Take a look at the Tempered Bikes 2010 catalogue, they have some really nice new gear coming out which will hopefully be available in NZ.
Sebastian (spaz) Nicholson sent in these photos of himself riding his local park in Masterton. Its always rad to see photos from riders all over NZ and Masterton is definitely a riding scene we haven't seen allot of, so its cool to see some photos from that part of the country. If you are ever in the area or passing by make sure you check out the Masterton park, its a really good park with lots of good lines, hips etc, probably one of the most underrated and unexplored parks in NZ.
Ungy sent in this rad edit of some of the local Nelson riders, filmed and edited by Tom FT. Super nice edit and good riding, definitely worth a watch! Check it out.
One of the friendliest guys in BMX, the infamous Bevan C sent in this rad little spring edit of himself shredding. Thank you Bevan! I know Bevan is always out there filming so hopefully we some more edits from him in the future.
I spotted this the other day on the FocalPoint site and though it was worth a post. Its the Colony x FocalPoint seat. I am a big fan everything Cooper at FocalPoint does and this seat is no exception, its definitely pretty rad and I really like it when two company's work on collaborations like this.
In other random related news.. I heard from Louis Bolter that Cooper Brownlee has left WeThePeople and is now riding for Colony!
GEORGE BOLTER BIKE CHECK
Friday, December 18, 2009
George Bolter sent in a bike check all the way from snowy Vancouver of his brand new WTP Sleepless. Check it out, the bike is dialed.
Thanks George! As a bonus, check out this photo of George doing a Downside Three Whip over the box at the Main Street Jam.. another rad photo shot by Ryan McCrae.
Issue 34 for of 2020 magazine is due out any day now. Its going to be another killer issue, 2020 just gets better and better every issue and is well on its way to being one of the best BMX magazines world wide. Keep and eye out for some NZ content in this latest issue too.
Just got the word from the guys at RedBull that they are putting on a Jam tomorrow at Rampage. The jam is kicking off at 12pm and will run to about 5pm. There will also be a few spot prize's for best trick from RedBull and TripleSix. Maybe we will run a best trick on the box and a most gnarliest trick into the foam? Should be a fun day though so make sure you come along and support this rad new park. See you there!
Local Auckland rider Seth Leeming went down pretty hard the other day. He was simply riding down hill, going pretty fast, pulled up over curb, and his front wheel came out.. and that is about all he remembers. He hit the ground super hard face first. He was knocked out cold.. luckily someone passing by found him and helped him out. His face and hands are pretty torn up and his nose is smashed. Despite the crash he was at the opening of Rampage last night with a positive attitude. Hope you get better soon Seth and see you back on your bike shredding!
Rampage Bike Park will officially open the doors this Thursday in Auckland city.
This is super good news, NZ finally has a decent Indoor Park dedicated to bikes!
The park is located at 88 Ellice Road, Glenfield, Auckland. 3 hour session will commence at 11:30hrs the second at 14:45hrs and the night session at 18:00hrs.
Here is another teaser photo of Louis Bolter floating a 360 over the big box....
To see what the rest of the park has to offer come along on Thursday and check it out.. its going to be a good time!
I will have more photos to post from the park after the opening day.. so stay tuned for that.
JJ from Blenheim sent in these photos of their trails. They have been working hard on them and are now running pretty dialed. Hopefully we some more photos and web edits from the locals killing it!
I really really cant be bothered with negative comments any more.. I didn't realize the NZ BMX scene was fill with so many people hiding behind the computer screen using anonymous comments to throw hate at other riders. That's not why I got into BMX.. so that shit ends now. Thank you!
THE MONTH THAT WAS NOVEMBER
Sunday, December 13, 2009
November was one of the busiest months for BMX in NZ.. it was five weekend month and there was a BMX event on every weekend. Some how I managed to make it to everyone of those events so I thought I would do a photo recap with some of the photos I took.. enjoy!
